Issara Music
Issara is a revolutionary classical and art music performance ensemble composed of accomplished professional musicians based in the United States and Thailand. We take pride in cultivating a roster of talented artists, comprised both virtually and physically of recent graduates from leading music institutions. We aim to provide traditionally programmed concert opportunities for performers like ourselves, while simultaneously cutting a new path forwards toward a new culture of virtually distributed and consumed classical music content.
Issara means free or freely in Thai. As an acronym from International Sound; Showcase and Recital Association, Issara is a conceptual beacon that guides us towards the future of classical music we wish to see in Thailand, the United States, and worldwide. Issara seeks to cut a path that all others may follow in devising new concert protocols and programming traditions that can ensure a less constrained classical music consumption experience.
We strive to live up to both our namesakes, Issara and International Sound, and endeavor to bring the folk music and folk classical music of Thailand, the USA, and beyond to serious concert productions it deserves. Concert programming need not be dictated by social pressures, ideological narratives, or antiquated traditions. All beautiful and meaningful music deserves a place to be played, and every talented musician deserves a stage to play on.
